OPEN BURNING, RECREATIONAL FIRES AND PORTABLE OUTDOOR FIREPLACES

OUTDOOR BURNING To protect the air quality in Mecklenburg County, outdoor burning is generally prohibited. Permits may be obtained to allow outdoor burning in certain situations. For more information, click here.
 

GRILLING IN APARTMENT COMPLEXES

 

North Carolina Code prohibits outdoor barbequing or grilling on apartment balconies or within 10 feet of any combustible material in a multi-family property.
ALARM SYSTEMS  

The town of Matthews has an alarm ordinance that requires a permit for an alarm system and imposes fines for excessive false alarms. For more information click here.
